About me in English
Here you can learn more about my journalistic background at Heise
and my collaboration with colleagues - even outside my editorial team.

My Profession
For some time now, I have been working for a company that is currently operating behind the scenes (more on that in due course). Before that, I worked as a journalist at Heise Medien in Hanover, Germany, for 33 years, first as an editor, later as managing editor and deputy editor-in-chief at the computer magazine c't, then for 13 years as editor-in-chief at Mac & i, which I founded myself. I was also the founder and long-time head of the Heise Software Directory (later Heise Download), podcaster, video producer, advertiser, PR specialist, event organizer, keynote speaker and, and, and …

Thanks for the invitation!
As a spokesperson and interview partner, I have appeared on dozens of radio and television programs, including Tagesschau, dpa, ARD Morgenmagazin, ZDF Frühstücksfernsehen, Deutschlandfunk, SWR3, RTL Aktuell, n-tv, SAT 1 and Pro 7, Deutsche Welle and Radio Hannover. I have been quoted and/or interviewed in hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles, including SPIEGEL, FAZ, taz, Stern, WELT, Frankfurter Rundschau, Focus, Rheinische Post (and again), Saarbrücker Zeitung.

It was a wonderful time
My work and that of my colleagues at Mac & i was perfectly captured by two very likeable videos at the time. One was the Making Of Mac & i by my former colleague Immo Junghärtchen from 2014, and the other was by the creators of Apfeltalk from 2016 (Jesper, the nice guy who holds the microphone the whole time and asks the clever questions, sadly passed away two years later). Michi, who was behind the camera at the time, is still on board with the great format.
